2001 Punch and Judy Stamps in Presentation pack

The presentation pack was issued on 4th September 2001 by the Royal Mail and contains a set of six 1st Class mint Stamps, which were produced to celebrate the show puppets, Punch & Judy. The puppets represented on the stamps were the Policeman, Clown, Mr. Punch, Judy, Beadle and the Crocodile. This lavish pack opens to reveal a fully illustrated Punch & Judy tent, complete with a push-out section to create the ‘stage’. There is also an excerpt from ‘Interview with a Punchman’ written by Henry Mayhew in 1851.
